The Australian Institute of Sport is responsible for leading and enabling a united high-performance system that supports Australian athletes to achieve podium success.The Sport Strategy and Investment Team is responsible for system and sport-specific data and strategic analysis, to enable National Sporting Organisations (NSOs) to develop future focused medal winning strategies from Emerging through to Podium. The Team assesses the potential of sports to deliver against their strategy to inform the strategic and transparent allocation of investment and resources, in addition to providing AIS effort, expertise and resources to support priority campaign plans and pathways development.As a key member of Sport Strategy and Investment Leadership Team you will manage the delivery of the AIS Performance Pathways strategy. Responsible for the leadership of the Performance Pathway (PP) Team, you will work collaboratively, engaging both internal and external colleagues, to support NSOs in the planning, development, coordination and delivery of their pathway strategies. You will foster partnerships to establish contemporary and sport-relevant athlete pathways to successfully identify and develop talented athletes to medal winning performances in the future.Key skills and experience required:Degree or higher qualification/s and demonstrated senior level experience in performance pathways, sports coaching or sports science.Demonstrated experience in leading successful national talent identification and pathway programs for a system or within an NSO.Experience in successfully leading and managing a diverse team, including demonstrated success in achieving team and project objectives in line with a strategic direction.Demonstrated capacity to provide timely, compelling, objective and concise advice to inform executive members and senior management to support decision makingDemonstrated high level experience in managing risk, business planning and strategy development.The position will be available for a four-year fixed term contract.Salary range = $134,222 - $163,447 per annum + up to 15.4% superannuation.Please note the ASC operates under The Australian Sports Commission Act 1989 and is separate to the Australian Public Service terms and conditions of employment.
