In addition to providing funding, Sport Australia is focused on improving the capability of sporting organisations to create an effective and sustainable national sport sector.What we wantAs the Director you will lead the delivery of a number of Sport Australia’s major grant programs, oversee the implementation of priority industry projects, including the Sport Volunteering National Plan, and facilitate the connection and engagement between the organisation and the sector. The successful applicant will have significant experience in program delivery, program innovation and stakeholder management.What the applicant needsDegree or higher qualification/s and demonstrated senior level experience in Business, Sport or a related field. Demonstrated senior level management experience, with a strong track record of achieving success in managing a team to deliver strategic objectives, in a diverse environment. Demonstrated success/experience in delivering a major Commonwealth/State grant programDemonstrated capacity to provide timely, compelling and concise advice to inform executive members and senior management to support decision making.Demonstrated high level experience in managing financial resources, risk management, business planning and strategy development.Experience delivering cultural change through influence and using innovative techniques.The Director, Sport Programs is an ongoing role with a preferred location of Canberra however Melbourne or Sydney will be considered for the right candidate.To be eligible for employment with the Australian Sports Commission, it is preferred that applicants are an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia.Please note that an order of merit may be used to fill other opportunities, including longer term contracts or ongoing vacancies, should the opportunity arise within 12 months from the role being advertisedSalary range = $134,222 - $163,447 per annum + up to 15.4% superannuation.Please note the ASC operates under The Australian Sports Commission Act 1989 and is separate to the Australian Public Service terms and conditions of employment.
