Assistant Director – AIS Site Strategy

The Australian Sports Commission plays a central leadership role in the development and operations of the Australian sport sector and acts as the leading sports agency in Australia, building collaboration, alignment and effectiveness within the Australian sport sector. You will play a key role in the development and implementation of effective project management for the site strategy project by supporting project planning, governance, monitoring, and coordination.Under the direction of the Project Director - Infrastructure and Facilities Services, you will be required to:Support the DGM AIS Site Strategy and Governance in establishing fit-for-purpose project governance, management and oversight for the site strategy project.Establish and monitor measures to allow for appropriate controls, accountability and assurance of project activities.Assist in applying best practice frameworks, policies and guidelines and other resources that deliver the best outcomes for the site strategy project.Support project team procurement and sourcing through the preparation of procurement documentation in accordance with Sport Australia procurement policies and procedures.Monitor suppliers engaged by the project team to assess overall performance and compliance with contractual terms.We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following:Qualifications and/or significant demonstrated experience in Project Management, methodology and practice, including substantial experience managing complex and diverse projectsDemonstrated record of providing leadership and management to achieve high personal and team performance and meet organisational and business objectives.Demonstrated experience in managing relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders around project timelines and pressures.Demonstrated business acumen, planning and management skills and the ability to identify and achieve work objectives within an often fast moving environmentDemonstrated experience in managing financial resources, risk management, business planning and strategy development.Position is Full-time and based in Canberra. Whilst this current vacancy is on-going, please note that an order of merit may be used to fill other opportunities, including longer term contracts or ongoing vacancies, should the opportunity arise within 12 months from the role being advertised.This position requires the holder to be able to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance to Baseline level and will be subject to a National Police Criminal History Check prior to appointment.  This position requires/may require weekend work, or outside ordinary work hours.Salary range = $108,243 - $127,726 per annum + up to 15.4% superannuation.Please note the ASC operates under The Australian Sports Commission Act 1989 and is separate to the Australian Public Service terms and conditions of employment.
